President's Message

Good news this month. The Caldwell County Site has met final approval. We will be signing the land use agreement this week. At the next meeting we will be discussing work that will be required to get the field operational. We intend to get everyone together at the new field as soon as the weather allows so we can all try out flying from there for the first time.

As you know it is time to renew club dues. Please pay as soon as you can. We will be needing funds for any improvements at the new filed, and also as much help from members as we can get.

Notes from the last meeting. 

Seth brought us up to date on the Caldwell Landfill situation. The Caldwell County Planning department has approved the landfill for use as a flying site.
Caldwell County will have a public hearing Jan. 26th at 7pm. the final approve should pass for our use of the landfill.

Col. Mearle Hickman thanked the club for his free membership for his help in securing the landfill. Mearle suggested that we send a thank you letter to the Caldwell County commissioners in appreciation for their support. It was also suggest that we send a thank you card on an annual basis.

Year 2004 club dues are due. Per last meeting dues are now $60 and $30 for senior citizens, and the work credit program has been dropped.

Anyone requiring all seasons patches should contact Elbert, or come to the next meeting to place their order.
