From The Oval Office

Firstly, I would like to welcome our newest member Richard Engel, to the club.

Our next meeting at the field is on Sunday March, 10th. I will be cooking hot dogs and chips and drinks will be available. I would like to extend an invitation to all members to attend this months meeting, and join in with the discussions that effect you.

I would also like to ask that you all keep an eye out for a drinks machine. We would like to get a machine, so that we can sell canned drinks. If anyone knows where one can be purchased at a good price, please let me know.

The weather is starting to get better, and the days are getting longer. This is the time of year when flying activity really starts to pick up after the winter months, and it is everyone's responsibility keep up with safety. Please keep yourselves familiar with our safety rules, as well as the AMA guidelines.

Thank You.

Ron Bachman

President

Next Meeting:
Sunday, March, 10, 2002 at 3:00pm
Location: Flying Field

Be sure to record your work credits as you do them. Record sheets are hanging on a clipboard in the clubhouse.

Notes from the last club meeting

Discussion was heard on a couple of safety matters. Firstly, it was suggested that racetrack drivers should appoint a spotter, if the racetrack is in use while aircraft are in the air.

Landing approaches from the left hand end of the field were also discussed. A point was made that landing approaches should always be confined to the correct side of the flight line. Aircraft should not be flying behind the flight line at any time.

Lastly, discussion was heard concerning vertical maneuvers close to the flight line. It was decided that all maneuvers which include vertical movement (i.e loops, torque rolls etc.) should be limited to a distance no closer to the flight line than the windsock is.

Discussion was heard on the possibility of getting a drink machine at the field.

Discussion was heard concerning the family fun fly. No dates have been set as yet.
